Learn the effortless and accessible practice of Vedic Meditation - A 20th-23rd

Vedic Meditation is a simple meditation technique that is easy to learn and practice. The technique is practiced twice daily for 20 minutes, morning and evening (with flexibility for life and parenthood), while sitting comfortably with your eyes closed. It can be practiced anywhere and absolutely anyone can learn this meditation.

In this technique there is no concentration or control of the mind required. You are given a personal mantra, a suitable sound which allows the mind to naturally and spontaneously turn inward, facilitating the experience of more peaceful and calm states.

As you practice this meditation technique, your body sinks into a deep state of rest, where the mind settles but is also awake and alert. A state of rest that is twice as deep as sleep (Harvard Medical School). In this state, called Restful Alertness, fatigue and stress are spontaneously eliminated from the body.

Some of the many benefits of this practice include better quality sleep, less reactivity, more tolerance, patience and flexibility, a sense of calm and centeredness, more presence, more energy, less stress and anxiety, more resilience and adaptability to stress, clarity of mind, greater compassion, greater ability to let go, replenishes our depleted reserves, less overwhelmed, more connected, improved communication and enhanced relationships, decreased fear and increased confidence.

Through daily practice you can transform the nervous system and enhance your potential to experience less stress and enjoy your natural state of energy, clarity, creativity and happiness.

Vedic meditation is taught in person over 4 consecutive days, 90 minutes per day. We begin the course with individual ceremonies, one-on-one with your teacher, honouring the ancient traditions of Vedic meditation. The following days we sit together learning a self-sufficient meditation technique that you can practice for the rest of your life. Each theoretical session is followed by a 20 minute group meditation to help us embody the teachings of Vedic meditation.

In these sessions, you will develop a deeper understanding of the mind from both the perspective of modern science and ancient wisdom, gaining the practical tools required to minimise the effects of stress.

The course follows a sequential and step-by-step process over four days of layering in experience and knowledge. We know that for new learning and change to be effective, it takes place in stages through repetition and consolidation of the experience.

Day 1: Learning to Meditate (1-hour individual appointment) In the first session, you will receive your individual mantra through ceremony. You will then be guided to begin the meditation techniques from an experienced, trained teacher.

Day 2: Verification & Validation (2-hour group session) This session covers all the practical aspects of using meditation in your daily routine; when, where and how to do it to get the best results.

Day 3: The Mind-Body Connection & Meditation (2-hour group session) Day three you will learn how physical, emotional and mental stress is created, and how stress impairs brain functioning, creativity and wellbeing. We discover how deep rest during meditation activating our immune system, enhances energy, clarity, positivity and resilience.

Day 4: Scientific Benefits & Establishing a New Routine (2-hour group session) The final day focuses on the immediate and long-term benefits of the technique from the understating of both modern science and ancient wisdom. You will understand how to eliminate the stress that accumulates in the body over a lifetime so you can experience clear, focused, creative thinking and start living to your full potential. You will discover how quickly the brain’s reactive stress response can be pacified naturally through regular daily use of Vedic meditation.
