Jess Permezel (she/they) is a queer midwife, childbirth educator and parent to two excellent school-age kids. They are committed to trauma-informed, accessible public healthcare and to promoting perinatal care that is holistic and culturally competent. They work clinically and as a research midwife.
Classes are tailored to your needs but can include:
The opportunity to debrief the conception process in a safe space
An overview of the system and how to navigate it
Informed decision making
The mechanics and dynamics of birth – physiology, psychology and the hormonal interplay
Pain coping and pain relief options
Options for chest and breastfeeding
Life with a newborn
Tips on surviving the early months with your identity and relationship/s intact
Class logistics
Classes will run in person in Brunswick
6 hrs, plus 1hr lunch break
